Day 10 - Birmingham, Alabama
Move onto hip, vibrant, “in” Birmingham. Discover “Vulcan Park and Museum” and explore the “Birmingham Civil Rights Museum”, a ‘living institution’ that uses the lessons of the past in a positive way to chart new direction for the future. Birmingham is full of great shopping, dining and entertainment, and home to two “American Idol” winners!
Days 11 & 12 - Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, Alabama
Relax in the sun, in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach where sugar-white sand beaches await you. Then head over to “Fort Morgan”, a historical fort used in the War of 1812, The Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and World Wars I and II. For outstanding shopping, take a short drive to “Foley Tanger Outlet Mall”. Outlet stores including “Ralph Lauren”, “Brooks Brothers”, “J.Crew”, “Gap”, “Ann Taylor”, “Oshkosh b’Gosh”, “Banana Republic”, “Nine West” and 113 more.
Day 13 & 14 - Montgomery, Alabama- Atlanta
End your trip in Montgomery, where the living history area features American life in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Don’t miss the ‘First White House of the Confederacy’, the home where Jefferson Davis lived at the birth of the Confederacy. If you’re interested in music, visit the “Hank Williams Museum” where his personal belongings are on display, including the baby blue 1952 Cadillac in which Hank took his last ride.
Then depart from Atlanta on day 14.
