Day 1 & 2 - Charlotte, NC Region & York County, SC

Look closely at Charlotte and you’ll discover a lot. Thanks to new developments ranging from the NASCAR Hall of Fame to The EpiCentre, a dynamic entertainment destination in Center City, Charlotte’s a vibrant hub on the Eastern seaboard. Charlotte’s not-to-be-missed cultural, entertainment, sporting, and historical mainstays make it a city like no other. Whether it’s a never-before- seen masterpiece unveiled or a hotspot rolling out the red carpet, the possibilities are eye-opening and endless. Discover how the region’s perfect blend of Southern hospitality and urban sophistication can invigorate your next trip to the U.S. No visit to Charlotte is complete without a revealing city tour and a visit to the Levine Museum of the New South. Discover how this once quiet textile and transportation community sprung to life in the 1970’s and 80’s and quietly became the 2nd largest financial center in the Western Hemisphere.

Another favorite son of the region is credited with taking a sleepy regional sport and transforming it into a national passion. Dale Earnhardt, aka, the Intimidator, is from nearby Kannapolis, NC. The area surrounding Kannapolis and Concord is home to more than 80% of today’s NASCAR Sprint Cup teams as well as the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Tour the speedway complex and imagine 200,000 fans descending on the region each May and October. Over 500,000 visitors a year are expected to experience the history, technology and jaw-dropping speed of racing at the recently opened NASCAR Hall of Fame.
